Helen Levitt August 31, 1913- March 29, 2009

The master photographer who could capture "the ceremony of innocence" has passed. I have spent many hours looking at the work of most of the masters and few have resonated with me the way her work has. I highly reccomend her self titled book from PowerHouse published in 2008.

Two quotes from those who knew her better than me:

"At the peak of Helen's form there was no one better" John Szarkowski.

"Helen's work may be called anti-journalism" Walker Evans 1969
